Feature Favourites: March

Call the police. Someone stole March!

It’s over already. A whole 31 days have passed us by again and it is time for my March Favourites.

Time flies when you’re having fun.

So, what have I been loving throughout the month of March? Well it has been a good month for make up. I’ve been rediscovering a few old faithfuls, like my MAC Mineralise Skinfinish which since finding translucent powders hasn’t had much love from me. I have had a few trips to TK’s as per usual, and plenty of online shopping has been done!

So, let’s begin, shall we.

Morphe 12NB Palette
I have been absolutely loving this palette during the month of March. It has a great selection of matte and shimmer shades. They are soo pigmented, it’s crazy good. Not only that you can pick this palette up for less than £15 depending on which retailer you use. You cannot go wrong with this purchase!

Trussardi Sunglasses
I bought myself these lovely glasses on one of my trips to TK Maxx, and the sun has been shining a little bit in March so they have had a few outings. I love the shape and they’re so comfortable to wearing. They complete my outfits!

RCMA No-Color Powder
I had seen lots of reviews and vlogs about this powder, and I had been using Vichy’s translucent powder which I love, so I thought it might be a hard one to beat. For the £8.95 price tag, it was rude not to give it a whirl. I’ve got to say I love this product. I think it is more finely milled in comparison to the Vichy equivilant and it is also weightless. You never seem to put too much on, it always looks flawless. Cannot recommend it enough.

Nivea Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream
I had been on the hunt for a good night cream, one that wasn’t too oily but that moisturised my skin overnight. This is ideal for normal/combo skin and leaves my skin healthy and happy. You cannot go wrong with Nivea 😍

Spectrum Brush B06 & Zoeva Soft Definer Brush 227
I was given these two brushes as part of a gift and they have revolutionised my eye shadow application. Together they make applying eye shadow so easy and the Spectrum brush especially is excellent for blending. I have been using them everyday during March and think they are both fab!

And last but not least…

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint
This beautiful product is sold as a skin tint as opposed to a foundation, however it’s excellent medium to full coverage says otherwise. I am the shade Finland, which is the second to lightest shade (pale and proud!). I only noticed shine after a good 6/7hours wear, and after powdering it was totally fine until the end of the day. It is more high end at £30 per tube, however you do get 50ml of product which is 20ml more than you get in most foundations. It’s definitely worth a try!

Hope you enjoyed reading my March Favourites… Let me know in the comments below.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think? What should I try during the month of April?

Feature Favourites: Spring Scents

Discovering new favourite perfume is like finding heaven in a bottle. Whether you pop into the drugstore and take a whiff of a tester, or you smell it on someone else and stalk them until you dare ask them what they’re wearing – either way we have all been there.

I’ve collected a few perfume favourites over the years and these are my favourite florally scented perfumes which I think are great for Spring/Summer.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh
This has been a firm favourite scent for the last few years. It oozes sophistication whilst not being too serious.
It’s fruity and floral and I am always repurchasing this as I use it all the time!

Fragrance Notes
Top Notes: ruby red grapefruit, raspberry, green leaves, pear
Heart Notes: violet, wild rose, apple blossom, lychee, jasmine petals
Base Notes: musks, plum, cedarwood

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream
I first bought this perfume in around Autumn time last year. I am so impressed by how long it lasts, and I get so many compliments when I wear it.

Daisy Dream is both floral and fruity making it perfect for everyday wear.

Fragrance Notes
Top Notes: Blackberry, Grapefruit, Pear
Heart Notes: Jasmine, Lychee, Blue Wisteria
Base Notes: White Woods, Musks, Coconut Water

Jimmy Choo Blossom
This next one is newly acquired but equally as loved. It tastes good enough to drink…Imagine the perfume version of your favourite cocktail!

Fragrance Notes
Top Notes: Sweet Pea, Rose
Heart Notes: Berries, Citrus, Cocktails
Base Notes: White Musk, Sandalwood

Thanks for reading!

What’s In My Bag?

As I did some research in order to write this post, I found myself getting really nosy and really enjoying reading about other people’s bag contents.

I wondered whether anyone would really care what I have in my bag, but if you’re anything like me (admittedly a little curious cough nosy) then you’ll enjoy posts like this.

So I decided to share with you lovely people what I carry around on a daily basis – things I can’t live with, and other things that have just appeared in my bag over time!

The Bag
This lovely bag is what I use on a daily basis. It is Radley Clerkenwell in a teal green colour. When Radley had their January sales, I saw this was reduced. It had been on my wish list for months so I snapped it up with £70 off! I love the colour and style and just, well, everything!

The Purse
I bought this beautiful Osprey purse purchased from TK Maxx, featured in my February Favourites, so I don’t need to say too much about it (because you’ve already read my Favourite eh eh?). It’s a lovely purse, very practical and I’m very happy with it.

I carry around with my Jimmy Choo Flash roll-on which I got as part of a gift set. I had never used a roll on perfume before but it is so handy! It’s great to apply a little throughout the day to keep smelling wonderful!

This little cutie is a design by Caroline Gardner. I don’t know if it’s my memory or if it’s just because I am busy nowadays, but I cannot function without my diary. There is a good chance I would miss appointments or forget to go to work if I didnt have it!

Work Badge
A staple in my bag so that I know where to find it – it’s quite self explanatory really. No, I’m not a doctor 😉

Nivea Lip Balm
I don’t go anywhere without this thing. I usually have about 3 different ones open at any one time, you know, just to be sure. Great for moisturising my dry lips.

Pocket Mirror / Lipsticks
Depending on what sort of week it has been I hoard around 2 or 3 lipsticks in my bag, when I can’t decide which one to wear. Of course, where there is lipstick, there is a mirror. I got this little mirror from Etsy – isn’t it cute! Handmade with Cath Kidston fabric!

So that’s what is in my bag, along with random tissues, receipts, fluff/crumbs (you’re the same, don’t deny it!). Hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoy reading similar posts.

What can’t you live without in your handbag?

Ciaté Cheekbone Cheat Duo: The Review

I love to look all bronzed with a rosy glow just as much as the next girl, but we all know there is a fine line between looking bronzed and looking like a bruised peach!

It is all in the art of application, blending and of course, a brilliant product. This takes time, effort and practice. It is possible though, if I managed it anyone can!

To apply, I use my Real Techniques blusher and bronzer brush, respectively.

I was recently given the new Ciaté Cheekbone Cheat Duo (with Olivia Palermo) in Bluff Point by my lovely sister. (Man, that was a long title!). This is a brilliant pan to take on your travels as it combines your bronzer and blush so you have one less thing to take. It claims to offer a demi-matte finish and even oil control!

I have to say, I love the packaging! Gold and black and sexy, what’s not to like?

Here is my lowdown on the product:

The Bronzer
The colour is excellent for fair to medium skin tones, creating a natural hint of colour to the cheek. It is easily blended out to look even more natural. I reach for this bronzer a lot, and think it’s going to be a definite favourite this year.

The Blush
The blush is a light pink toned powder blusher. It’s quite pigmented so you don’t need much. Again, it isn’t a colour that’s going to draw too much attention to your cheeks, just that natural glow. It’s a great blusher for that understated daytime look or pack a bit more on to take it into a night-out look!

This duo is a definite winner for me. I have had lots of compliments whilst wearing it and will continue to do so. It certainly offers a demi-matte finish, sun-kissed but under control.

Have you tried this bronzer/blush? Do you recommend another product I should try?

Hello, Spring

image I came across this old telephone box on a village, in a very random place next to a horse’s field. Maybe the horse has friends in other fields he likes to call?
Anyway, I thought it made a nice picture.

This is another view of the horse’s field, with some lovely daffodils in the foreground. Spring is definitely here!image
